California Watchable Wildlife

The California Watchable Wildlife Committee (CWWC) celebrates the state's wildlife and diverse habitats by acknowledging and elevating the value of wildllife viewing to benefit individuals, families, communities, and industries while fostering awareness and support for wildlife and habitats. Comprised of representatives from government agencies, non-profits, and private businesses, the CWWC strives toward educating the public by coordinating and promoting ethical wildlife watching. Six million Californians watch wildlife, tripling the number since 1995, and hundreds of thousands of tourists watch wildlife as part of their travels to the state. Nationally, 66.1 million US residents watch wildlife, contributing to the $38 billion spent on viewing expenditures. California alone is regarded as one of the best wildlife viewing locations in the nation.
